What Mappr is
Your notes are already a map, they just look like a list. Paste an indented outline and Mappr reads the indentation as depth, builds the branch and places it. Copy a branch back and it arrives as markdown, so nothing you make here is trapped here.

- CounterTabs, spaces, bullets, numbers and markdown headings all read as depth. A stripped copy with no indentation left in it still works: bold lines read as headings, a line ending in a colon introduces what follows.
What we will not do
Diagram tools grow by adding. Every release brings another panel, another menu, another thing to load before you can draw a box. Mappr is built the other way round, and these three lines are what we check a feature against before it ships.
The point of Mappr is how quickly a thought becomes a branch. Every control is a key, the layout tidies itself, and the camera follows. Nothing asks you to stop and arrange.
The whole app is one file with nothing to install and nothing to load from anywhere else. Open it once and it works on a plane, in a classroom with bad wifi, or with the network off entirely.
Your maps are stored by your browser, on your machine. There is no account, no server and nothing to upload, so nobody can read your work, including us.
How it works
There are sixty-one keys in Mappr and you will never need most of them. These four build a map. Press ? inside the app for the rest.
Any arrow works. Press the same direction again from the new node to keep going that way.
Steps through the nodes on the level you are on. Arrows move between levels.
Retypes whatever is selected. An arrow key leaves typing and starts moving again.
Walks the map branch by branch in front of a room. No deck, no export.
